APPOINTMENT OF BENOÎT LAMY DE LA CHAPELLE DIRECTOR OF THE ART CENTRE

Monday 1 October 2018

The CAC – Synagogue de Delme is pleased to announce the appointment of Benoît Lamy de La Chapelle as the director of the art centre. He succeeds Marie Cozette, who is stepping down from her post in Delme to become the director of the CRAC Occitanie in Sète. Benoît Lamy de La Chapelle will replace her on 1 October 2018.

Benoît Lamy de La Chapelle is an art critic and curator. After studying art history at Paris Descartes University and training as an exhibition curator at Pantheon-Sorbonne University, he worked at WIELS in Brussels, at the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne in Reims and at the Musée de l’Hospice Saint-Roch in Issoudun. He was recently the programme director at In extenso - lieu d’art contemporain in Clermont-Ferrand, where he also directed the publication La belle revue, a contemporary art magazine in Centre France - Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes. He was also a member of the &NBSP association, responsible for programming at the municipal contemporary art space La Tôlerie in Clermont-Ferrand.
He is a member of the International Association of Art Critics.

Catherine Jacquat, the president of the art centre, is delighted with this appointment, which resulted from a recruitment process and a jury meeting on 10 July 2018, attended by representatives and partners of the art centre and administration council.
